MAYA Youth Grant Program

Mason area youth will have the opportunity to receive up to a $150 grant to help with athletic, academic and youth activity costs. Grants will be given to youth in the Mason area in real need of assistance in paying for registration expenses, team fees, pay-to-play costs, equipment needs, or any other costs associated in helping them to participate in the youth activity that is important to themselves and their future. While MAYA has focused on sports activities in their fundraising efforts, these grants can be used for anything - from sports, to band, to dance to club activities.

These grants could be used for things like:

Public school pay-to-play fees

Sports equipment and uniform costs

Band or music equipment

Dance, cheerleading, ballet, etc. costs

Club sport fees and equipment costs

Connect Sports, Buddy Sports, and other similar programs

Karate and other martial arts classes and gear

Robotics equipment and fees

4-H and other agricultural endeavors

Debate and similar organizations

These are just a few examples, and we encourage any youth in the Mason community to apply if they need help with whatever activity they need a helping hand being part of in the community.

Qualifications:

• Anyone in the Mason community 18 or younger may apply for a grant up to $150. For this grant program, the Mason community includes applicants either residing or participating in sports or another activity in the Mason School District area.

• While MAYA will not require proof of need, we ask that only those that have challenges paying to participate in the activity of their choice apply.

• The youth or parent must fill out the form below as completely as possible. 

• The 200 word written portion of the request should be voiced by the child but can be assisted in completing and typing up the request by a parent, guardian, or coach.

Those awarded grants will need to agree to be featured on social media and other promotion of the grant program and the MAYA organization.

Funds will be paid from MAYA directly to organization that the funds will be used for on behalf of the applicant. Applicants will not receive the funds directly and if the request is for equipment, those funds will likely be provided by gift certificate or something similar.
